Instructions

Shake briefly and strain the ingredients into a Collins glass with ice. Top with soda. Spritz rose water over the cocktail. Garnish with bubble gum tape and lemon twist.

Notes

I have been trying to achieve something close to a bubble gum flavor in a cocktail for a while now, and I believe that the Habibi Cocktail #1 is the closest approximation to that nostalgic flavor. Sahlep has been used as a beverage since the Roman's, who used it in love potions, all the way to the Ottoman Empire. Habibi means 'my love' in Arabic, and I thought it appropriate as an ode to the whole geographic area that drank it.
